Connect AI assistants
Connect ReflowPDF to Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, and it turns what it writes into a print-ready PDF: an invoice, a contract, a report, a letter, a CV, a certificate. Every answer gives you two links: the PDF, and the same document in the ReflowPDF editor, where you change it on the page and download it again.
Connect
ReflowPDF is a remote MCP server. Its address is https://app.reflowpdf.com/mcp. It works as soon as it is added, without an account.
Claude
On claude.ai, in Claude Desktop or the mobile app: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the address.
ChatGPT
Settings → Apps → Advanced, turn on Developer mode, then Create app and paste the address. Choose No authentication to use it as a guest, or OAuth to sign in to your ReflowPDF account.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http reflowpdf https://app.reflowpdf.com/mcpCursor, VS Code and other clients
Add a remote server over Streamable HTTP with the address. In Cursor, in ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"reflowpdf": {
"url": "https://app.reflowpdf.com/mcp"
}
}
}In VS Code, in .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"reflowpdf": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://app.reflowpdf.com/mcp"
}
}
}Without an account, and with one
Without an account, every page is printed, with a small ReflowPDF mark. A free account gives you 50 pages a month without the mark; Pro and Max have no limit (see pricing).
- Ask the assistant to connect your account: it shows a Connect button, and from then on its prints are your account’s.
- Or open a document’s edit link while signed in and choose Make it mine: that document moves into your account.
Things to ask
Each of these was asked of an assistant connected to ReflowPDF; below each is what came back.
“Make an invoice from ReflowPDF’s templates for Acme GmbH: 3 hours of design at €90, due in 14 days.”
The gallery’s invoice on one A4 page: €270.00, due 14 days from today. What the assistant did not know — your company details, bank account, VAT number — it named instead of making up.
“Write a short Q3 project report with a cover page, a table of contents and page numbers. Revenue: July $1.48M, August $1.59M, September $1.75M. Seven of nine milestones were on time; the data migration slipped three weeks.”
Four pages: a cover, a table of contents with the right page numbers, a revenue chart and table, and “Page X of Y” at the foot of each page.
“Turn this text into a one-page CV, A4, two columns.” — with your CV text pasted below.
Then, in the same chat: “Move the skills section to the top.”
A two-column CV. After the second request, the same edit link opens the new version.
“Make an event ticket for the Lisbon Design Summit on 14 March 2027, seat B12, with a QR code that links to https://example.com/tickets/B12.”
A ticket with a tear-off stub. The QR code scans to that address.
“Make a fillable job application form: name, email, phone, the position from a dropdown (Designer, Engineer, Manager), a start date and a signature.”
A PDF form that fills in Acrobat, Preview or a browser: text fields, a dropdown and a signature field.
“Put my logo in the header of a letter to Harbor & Pine about our new delivery schedule, Letter size.” — with the logo attached.
A one-page Letter-size letter with your logo in the header. If your assistant cannot take the attached file itself, it first gives you a link to upload it.
Change a document later
Open the edit link and change anything on the page: type, add rows to a table, drag in your own pictures. Then ask in the same chat for something more — “on page 2, remove the second table” — and the assistant reads your edits first and changes the document by the same link.

Tools
The tools the server gives your assistant:
- render_pdf
- Prints an HTML document with its CSS as paged PDF: a PDF link and an edit link.
- render_template
- Fills a template with JSON data and prints it — a gallery template or the assistant’s own.
- list_templates
- Lists the gallery’s ready documents: invoices, quotes, reports, contracts, letters, CVs, certificates, tickets and more.
- get_template
- Returns a gallery template’s source and sample data, to fill or adapt.
- open_in_editor
- Opens a document in the ReflowPDF editor and returns its edit link, without printing.
- get_document
- Reads a document as it is now, including your changes in the editor.
- update_document
- Writes a new version of a document by its link and prints it again.
- upload_image
- Keeps an image for a document: a picture you attached in the chat, or one the assistant made.
- ask_for_images
- Gives you a link to upload your pictures from your device, for the assistant to put in the document.
- import_pdf
- Opens an existing PDF in the editor’s import, which rebuilds it as an editable document: one you attached, or one at a public address.
- connect_account
- Signs you in to your ReflowPDF account from the chat.
- read_guide
- The engine’s guide for the assistant: paper and margins, headers and footers, tables of contents, footnotes, columns, charts, QR codes, forms.
How long things are kept
- PDFs stay at their link for 24 hours.
- Documents stay at their edit link for 30 days after their last change. Anyone with an edit link can open the document, so share it as you would a private document link.
